Complicated Grief (Copy)

Complicated Grief is a supportive space for people to connect who feel their grief comes with added complications, no matter how big or small.

There are many reasons people feel their grief is complicated some of these include, but are not limited to: Addiction, loss of a partner, loss to suicide, estrangement, homelessness, losing someone in childhood, multiple loss, relationship breakdown, stigma, supporting a child through loss, traumatic loss and unexplained death.

At the beginning of each meeting, attendees take turns introducing themselves and why they have come to the group. From then, there is no pressure at all to speak, and many people attend our meetings to listen. The meeting hosts will then ask the group if anyone has anything they would like to bring to the space. Whatever a person says is relevant, and they are welcome to bring anything to the meeting. All attendees are asked to respect the privacy of the space and treat others and ourselves with kindness throughout.

Changing how we discuss our grief, mental health, and well-being in open and honest spaces. Nobody should ever feel isolated, and there is always somebody who will relate to your story. ‘If there’s one, there’s two.’

The New Normal

We aim to help and support one another through life's difficult moments. Our meetings are peer-to-peer, no professionals, just people sharing their experiences.

We feel that one of the best forms of therapy is simply speaking. We facilitate conversations between individuals who have similar experiences. Nobody should ever feel alone, and there is always somebody who can empathetically relate to your story.
